Can I use the Disney mobile magic pass for just myself and husband, and my daughter use her magic band? Or do we all need the mobile magic pass?

    Welcome to planDisney, Cindy!

I'm so glad you stopped by with your question today.  I hope you're ready for an extra dose of cheer during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit because it looks like you'll be visiting during one of my favorite times of year ––  the holiday season!  With the beautiful decorations, incredible gingerbread displays, special seasonal offerings, and so much more, it feels like everything is dusted with an extra layer of magic everywhere you turn.  And this year, I have a feeling that the holiday season is going to be better than ever because one of my favorite events –– Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party –– is making its long-awaited return to Magic Kingdom Park.  This fantastic after-hours celebration is held on select nights throughout the months of November and December, so if you're looking for a special way to add some holiday sparkle to your upcoming visit, I definitely recommend adding this party to your must-do list. For a full list of dates and prices, be sure to check out the event page on the Walt Disney World website.

During a Walt Disney World Resort visit last year, I said goodbye to my trusty MagicBand, made the switch to using a Disney MagicMobile Pass and I've never looked back.  I love the convenience of having the pass right in my phone's digital wallet, along with my Disney account affiliations, so I never have to worry about being without my ticket or losing access to my Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club discounts. But while the Disney MagicMobile Pass is great for me, my kids would not be too happy at the prospect of giving up their beloved MagicBands –– like your daughter, putting on those magical bands for them means the fun is officially ready to begin.  That's why I love that the Disney MagicMobile service and MagicBands (as well as the all-new MagicBand+) can be used interchangeably by Guests.  This means that you and your husband will be welcome to use the Disney MagicMobile service, while your daughter uses the MagicBand linked to her through My Disney Experience.  Talk about a win-win, right?!

While your daughter is welcome to use her MagicBand throughout her visit, I also recommend downloading a Disney MagicMobile pass for her to save to your phone as a backup. Believe me, there's nothing worse than realizing a MagicBand has been left on an airplane or back at the hotel (I speak from personal experience), so I always make sure to download a pass for each of my kids, too. That way, nothing can stand in the way of your fun, even if an unexpected MagicBand mishap strikes!

Thanks for visiting planDisney, Cindy.  If you think of more planning questions as your Walt Disney World Resort visit approaches, I hope you'll stop by again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
