Ahoy Vivica –
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and “
Welcome Home DVC Member!” We are thrilled to have our DVC Members on the
Disney Fantasy in August 2017. One of the most exciting parts of our cruise preparation has the to be the door decorations for our stateroom. I applaud you working ahead of time because a cute door takes thought and effort!
Door Decorations need to comply with
Disney Cruise Line guidelines, and the main rules are to avoid any kind of tape, adhesive or over-the-door decorations. For this reason, magnets work very well (unless you are cruising in Concierge Staterooms which have a wooden door instead of a metal one). Some cruisers are very crafty and make their own designs by printing them on magnetic paper and creating custom crafts (my fellow
Moms Panelist Nancy has some mad crafting skills)!
I ordered the majority of my door decorations from
Etsy where you can find a plethora of custom made options.
Pinterist online has some neat ideas for stateroom door decorations too. The rest of the door decorations we made by visiting a craft store – for instance, since we are on a Thanksgiving cruise, I purchased some felt pumpkins, glued cardboard Mickey ears on them, stuck on a magnet, and we were done! A lot of families like to put their names on their doors – again you can get them premade or make them yourself.
Vivica, I hope this helps you get started, but if you need more assistance, please feel free to drop in and “sea” us again!
