We will be at Disney in May for my 8yr old son's birthday. Noticed our trip will fall on Mothers Day. How busy is Mother's Day/Mohter's Day weekend typically? Is there a park we should skip on Moms day? Thanks

    Hi Lynsey,

May is a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World!  I was there last May and found the crowds and weather to be delightful.  Even though the weekends can be a bit busier than weekdays, I think you'll still find Mother's Day weekend is a lovely time to visit the Disney theme parks.  Just plan to arrive at opening time at the theme park of your choice so that you can take advantage of the shortest attraction lines of the day.

Since the Magic Kingdom has evening Extra Magic Hours on Mother's Day, I'd be inclined to skip that park on Sunday.  Similarly, Disney's Hollywood Studios has morning Extra Magic Hours on Saturday.  Thus, these parks will attract larger crowds.  If avoiding the largest crowds is your biggest priority, I'd select one of the other parks on those days.

Let us know if you need any additional advice as you plan your May visit and please wish your son a very happy birthday from the Moms Panel.
