Going to Disney in March. Husband, 13 yr old son, my parents & myself. My parents are most likely not going on majority of rides. Wondering if they would be able to stand in line with us so that they have company but not actually go on the rides.

    Hi Zita!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I have visited Walt Disney World with parents who are just as content not to partake in the up/down, spinning ‘round, fast-moving variety of attractions. Still, that leaves many, many attractions for all us to enjoy together either by waiting in the attraction standby queue together or by taking advantage of FastPass+.

First, consider the theater-style attractions like The Hall of Presidents and Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom Park or The American Adventure in Epcot. You can also consider audience-style attractions like Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. Then, of course, there are performance show-style presentations like Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage and Festival of the Lion King. And don’t forget the calm yet immersive attractions like "it's a small world." This doesn’t even begin to mention the parades, fireworks spectaculars, and other entertainment that all can enjoy together.

If you’re wondering about the more roller-coaster-type and motion-type attractions and wondering if they can wait in line with you and then not ride the attraction, I would think — and this is simply my own experience speaking here  — they would more enjoy finding a comfortable spot to relax and take in all the atmosphere while you are on the attraction. I say this because the idea of the attraction standby queue is to seat guests safely, quickly and comfortably. There is much for them to see and enjoy. For some attractions they can even find a spot to catch a glimpse of you.

Enjoy your family stay at Walt Disney World!
