Hi Sharon,
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is within sight! You must now be in countdown mode and looking forward to that magical experience.
I would say that the best way to prepare for the weather in Orlando is to sing "Hakuna Matata." I cannot even begin to tell you the number of times we've had thunderstorms in the forecast for each day of our Walt Disney World Resort vacations. However, it has been our general experience that most of the 'bad weather' would rarely materialize or simply turn into a passing afternoon sun shower.
Disney Parks and attractions remain open and operational regardless of rain. Rarely have they had to close due to
truly inclement weather. In all the years we've been visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, there was only one day I distinctly recall experiencing a sustained on-and-off rain drizzle throughout the day. Well we simply made lemonade out of lemons, wore our Disney ponchos and enjoyed the lighter crowds and shorter attraction lines!
Disney Mom Tip: It tends to get a little chilly inside air-conditioned attractions,
Restaurants,
Shops and Stores. Therefore, I recommend packing a light jacket and water-proof shoes or sandals. Do bring a change of clothes for the little ones, as they may get a bit fussy when feeling wet or chilly.
Locker Rentals offer a convenient way to store these items so you don't have to carry them around the theme parks throughout the day.
Wishing you a most
unforgettable vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!
