We will be in Disney over the marathon weekend in January and I was wondering if any of the races will affect access to the parks. Specifically, will the 5k limit what we can do or see at Animal Kingdom on Saturday January 10? Thanks for you help!

All the parks are open during their normal hours even if there is a race going on.  For example, the marathon runners are all out of the Magic Kingdom before its scheduled opening.  When the runners go through Animal Kingdom you will see roped off paths that are exclusively for the runners, but guests will still be able to get around the park.

That week in WDW the crowd level is pretty low.  I think you will be very happy that you chose to go then.
