Hi, I am going on the Disney Magic sailing September 4th and I am curious if there is a pirate night for this cruise? Also, I am traveling with two minor children without the other parent. Will I need a notarized authorization form or any form?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Leah! We are all hands on deck, ready to answer your Disney vacation planning questions.

Shiver me timbers – I have good news to share! I hear Captain Jack Sparrow and his rowdy band of scallywags can be found looking for treasure onboard. You can expect a Pirate takeover on Wednesday. There are themed crafts, games, and a lively deck party to mark the occasion. Head to dinner hungry because pirate shenanigans also take over the dining room! The best part of the night is dressing in pirate-y apparel and joining in the merrymaking on deck. The evening ends with a dazzling fireworks display.

I have one more surprise to share! On Tuesday evening, you can celebrate with the Captain and Cruise Director Disney Cruise Line’s 25th Anniversary at Sea! Look for specialty cocktails and a meet and greet with your favorite Disney Pals dressed in shimmery outfits. There’s even a special fireworks celebration! Entertainment is subject to change, but you’ll find the most up-to-date schedule on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app

Before you embark on your high seas adventure, have your stowaways’ legal guardian complete the Disney Cruise Line Authorization for Minor to Travel Without a Parent or Legal Guardian form. There is a spot on the bottom to have the form notarized by a notary public. However, if you are their parent, you are all set! You do not have to complete the form. Make sure you bring with you to the port the same citizenship documentation you entered during online check-in.

After boarding the Disney Magic, I suggest enjoying lunch at Cabanas and stopping by the youth clubs. Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are two dedicated spaces for sailors ages 3 to 12. During Open House hours, you can explore these spaces together and meet the youth counselors. While the kids are having fun with their new friends, you can relax by the Quiet Cove Pool. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me!

I hope this information helps clear things up for you and that it’s smooth sailing ahead! Please cruise back to planDisney if you have any further questions. We'd love to see you again!
