HI! We will be on the Disney Magic for a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas leaving from MIA. Will we have a Pirate night, and if so, when would it be? Thank you!!! If possible, where could I find a detailed plan in order to book accordingly activities for all.

    Ahoy there, Claudia!

Well, shiver me timbers, I love hearing that you have a Disney Magic voyage just on the horizon. I understand why you want to know more about all the fun activities onboard, especially the beloved Pirate Night. That evening turns out to be a highlight for my family when cruising because we can dress up, talk like pirates, and tell pirate jokes. Here's one: Why did the pirate go on vacation? He needed some "Arrr and Arrr!"

While things are always subject to change, currently Pirate Night looks and feels a bit different than in past years. Since you will be on a 4-night sailing on the Disney Magic, your voyage will have some pirate themed activities and a pirate menu. Captain Mickey is also introducing new entertainment like a fireworks show called “Disney Ever After” and foregoing the deck parties for now. Just to give you an idea of what to expect, the Experience Updates page will fill you in on what will be offered onboard and ashore during your voyage, particularly the “On the Ship” page.

You won’t likely know the actual schedule of events until you are onboard, and then you will find the full schedule on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. I wish I had a way to tell you which night of your cruise the special activities fall on, but that isn't published at this time. We used to be able to check it online under My Reservations, but I’m not seeing it there anymore. Traditionally, the Pirate Night would fall on the Castaway Cay day.

Check out this video featured on the Disney Parks Blog about what new magic is happening onboard. It did reveal that there will be a swashbuckling pirate takeover at dinner on voyages lasting 4 nights or longer. That would be the evening I would suggest dressing up in pirate costumes if you so choose.

Again, all of this is totally subject to change, so I always suggest that Guests pack for some type of pirate themed activities and events just in case. You never know when Captain Minnie will decide that it’s full steam ahead with a full fledged Pirate Night.

Claudia, sending you pixie dust that your cruise is nothing but smooth sailing. Please keep us in mind as you continue to plan your adventures on the high seas!

    Bon Voyage!
