We are going on the Disney Magic on May 7th and will be travelling with an almost 3 year old......will be 3 on May 28th and a 4 year old. Concerned our two kids will not be able to play together based on some of the age restriction on board. Suggestions?

    Ahoy, Iriana!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the Disney Magic -- the 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise combines just the right amount of time on board with opportunities at gorgeous ports of call.

For your children in the youth clubs, you will register them online for the areas where they should be according to their birthdays. However, once you're on board, the counselors really do try to work with you to make the experience comfortable and convenient for you and your child. At the same time, they also must take into consideration the number of children which are in their care and the children's abilities to cope and manage in their environments. Every child is different, and you know your child best. Therefore, if you think your almost 3-year-old can manage being in the larger areas with the older kids and is completely toilet trained, then ask the counselors if s/he can be placed with his/her sibling. You'll need to handle this as soon as possible at the Open House on Embarkation Day.

As a precaution, make arrangements for the nursery in advance and cancel your reservations if your child will be enjoying the Oceaneer's Club once you make your final decision. From experience, my four children were intimidated at first going into a strange place without one of their siblings but quickly adjusted during the cruise. At dinner each night, they were tripping all over each other with stories of how their area of the ship was better than anyone else's!

I hope this relieves any mommy anxiety you may have. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
