Disney Magic Kingdom August 2026 opening

Hi Peter and welcome to planDisney! I’m glad you made the decision to travel across the pond and visit Walt Disney World this summer! We often visit in the summer to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Just make sure you have extra sunblock packed and remember to stay hydrated. Now, let’s dive into your question!

Peter, it looks like you’re inquiring about the opening time for Magic Kingdom in August when you arrive. Unfortunately, the Hours & Event Calendar only provides times for about 60 days out, so I suggest revisiting that website in a couple weeks. The Hours & Event Calendar is a helpful resource as it also provides information on parades and fireworks and nighttime spectaculars as well!

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel or other select eligible hotels, don’t forget about early theme park entry during your stay! This awesome benefit gives you an extra 30 minutes in the parks to ride eligible attractions before the park opens for general admission. We always plan to rope drop and coordinate our Lightning Lane Pass selections accordingly to minimize wait times for some of the most popular attractions!

Did you know that your stay will coincide with Cool KIDS’ SUMMER? One of the best benefits of this promotion is free admission to a Disney water park on check-in day for those staying at a Disney Resort collection hotel! Visiting either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach is a great way to make a big splash on your summer vacation at Walt Disney World!

Peter, I hope this information is helpful for you as you plan out your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
