    We are going on the Disney Magic Cruise Eastern Caribbean, we would like to verify what would be appropriate dress for meal times ie: does my husband really need to take his suit ?.

    Hi Joanne,

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  We will be taking the Eastern Caribbean voyage next year, and although I can assure you there will be men in suits - my husband will not be one of them.  Most of your dining will be "cruise casual", but you should plan on one formal and one semi-formal evening as well.  Now I think the definition of formal is open to interpretation while on vacation - and I have always felt that it is not exactly what you wear, but how you wear it.

    Some guests love the opportunity to dress up for a special occasion, and I would encourage anyone to do so - but "formal" wear is a bit out of our comfort level for us.  For my family, I will bring a dress shirt and tie for my husband to wear on the "formal" evening, but I fully expect to see men in suits and even tuxedos.  Most evenings he will simply wear chinos and a dress shirt.  As long as he's cleaned up, well pressed and comfortable in his attire - I approve!

    Keep in mind that If you plan on dining at Palo, a jacket is suggested.
