Hello. On the Disney Magic, are children allowed to wear arm bands of flotation vests? My little girl has never been on a water slide before, and since we can’t go down with her, I think she would feel more comfortable with these on. Thanks

    Hi Laura!

Setting out from the reef into deeper waters with a Disney cruise? That’s awesome news! I love hearing that you have plans to sail on one of the Disney Magic at Sea itineraries. I’ll bet that the Disney Magic lives up to its name with so many amazing activities and entertainment to keep UK residents enthralled on these at sea voyages.

When I think of Disney cruising, one of the first places that pops into my head is the pool deck with those fun pools, waterslides, and water playground. I totally understand wanting your kiddo to feel comfortable in and around the water, especially on waterslides. So good news: your Dory can use arm bands/floaties, flotation vests, or bathing suits with flotation devices. If you don’t want to tote those onboard, complimentary life vests are provided.

On the Disney Magic, the AquaDunk is a SPLASHtastic waterslide that accommodates one or two Guests. However, children under 7 must be at least 42” tall and have to ride with someone 14 years of age or older. Plus, Guests may not use flotation devices on the AquaDunk. If someone in your travel party could accompany her, then this water coaster might be a possibility.

Sliding may still be in her future because there's also an 1800-square foot water playground called the AquaLab which boasts Twist 'n' Spout, a twisty turny double looping waterslide stretching 250 feet long. Guests must be at least 38 inches tall to experience Twist 'n' Spout. So if your daughter would feel more confident with floaties or a vest, she can enjoy this slide to her heart’s content! And we can’t forget about Goofy’s Pool where she can splash around while watching Disney movies on the giant Funnel Vision screen.

You can find all the pool rules including age and height restrictions to get prepared for your days at sea on the Disney Magic. Keep in mind that certain activities for Disney Magic at Sea sailings, specifically the pool deck may require reservations. You can make those using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard, and the app will send you a notification when your spot poolside is available. Details are all outlined in the Disney Magic at Sea Experience Updates.

Just keep swimming back to planDisney if you have more questions. Laura, as the character Crush would say in Finding Nemo, I hope you have a “totally righteous” cruise!

    Bon Voyage!
