We came to Disney and got Magic Bands in Dec 2021. We are going again this June. Is there a way to tell if bands still work at all ahead of our visit?

Hey Mike and welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you asked this question because I think MagicBands are some of the coolest technology used in theme parks especially the MagicBand+ which you should check out when you get to Orlando.

MagicBands, or Disney Bands as they are referred to in the UK, have non-rechargeable batteries that last about two years and there is no way to test them except for at the theme park touchpoints. I have many MagicBands and while some have lasted longer than two years I tend to avoid those older than 18 months. The good news is that when you arrive you can check out the new rechargeable MagicBand+ with gesture recognition, color-changing LED lights, and vibrations. They are so cool!

planDisney Pro Tip: When you visit this June take a day and rent a Beachcomber Shack at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. It is the perfect place to relax after a few days in theme parks.

Mike, if you have any follow-up questions, please write me back directly. I am here to help.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
