Hey howdy hey Jeffrey and welcome to planDisney!
I love how versatile
MagicBands are for navigating the parks and how easy it is with everything linked to the band. Such a great way to truly be on "Vacation Mode" while in Walt Disney World Resort with your unique MagicBand. One of the many things my family and I love is to get a new MagicBand for our customized Disney personality feel while planning our next trip. Of course, now things are a little different considering we have to purchase our MagicBands, I have found myself using the same one for several trips and I hear your issue 100% as this past year I was in your shoes. So sit tight, I want to walk you through some scenarios that I went through and hopefully, we can get this figured out for you.
The first thing to try, which sounds like you already did, is to re-link the MagicBand to your account. In your
My Disney Experience account you should see the "Link" button in the "MagicBands and Cards" and it is fairly easy to do from there. Since that did not work, what you would do next is to see if it is assigned to someone else in your travel party. You would go under the tab "MagicBands and Cards" again, scroll down until you see your name. Next to your name you should see which MagicBand is currently connected to your account in a small icon next to your name. If you have more than one, you can also see which ones are connected to your account. As long as you see the MagicBand you are trying to connect there, you should be in good shape. I did have one instance where I saw it but when I got to the resort for some reason it was not properly connected and the Cast Member at the front desk of our hotel was able to easily connect it.
Now for the more unlikely but possible scenario. I don't know how or why but Stitch apparently got loose throughout My Disney Experience account one day and made a mess out of my personal account. I had to call
Guest Services at (407) 939-4357 because I did not see my MagicBand anywhere on the site and could not link it. For some weird reason, I had two My Disney Experience accounts that were made, one with my legal name and one with my nickname. I only made one account that I used frequently and they saw that only one was active. The Cast Member I spoke to had to go through and deactivate the one account and reassign my MagicBand to the account that all the reservations were made under. It was really weird but the Cast Member I was on the phone with was very knowledgeable and was able to help me through the process. It ultimately did not take too long and I was able to get it fully resolved before my trip.
I hope this helps to clear things up with your MagicBand and I hope you have a Magical trip with your family at the end of this month. I hope you get a chance to check out
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts where you can see various art galleries, help to create some unique projects and of course taste the culinary arts as well!
Happy planning,
Nick
