I have been to Disney lots….lots of time but we have never used the dinning plan. We have it for our November trip and our question is…can we use or dinning plan on check in day and also check out day.

Hi Darrius, and welcome back to planDisney! I’m so glad you asked this question. I absolutely love the Disney Dining Plan, so I’ve got you covered on this one!

As someone who has visited Walt Disney World Resort many times, you of course know that there are endless options for amazing dining. What I love about the Disney Dining Plan is that, by prepaying for my meals, I can just focus on choosing my favorite restaurants and then enjoying the meals. I also love that an adult beverage is included for me, and my kids love that dessert is always a guarantee!

With the Disney Dining Plan, you will be allocated meal credits based upon the number of nights on your resort hotel reservation. On the Quick Service Dining Plan, you will have two quick service meal credits and one snack credit per day. On the standard Disney Dining Plan, you will have one quick service credit, one table service credit, and one snack credit per day. The nice thing about these credits is that they are flexible. You can use them any day from your check-in date to your check-out date. Just keep track of them, so you don’t run out and also so you know you’ve used them all by the end of your vacation. You wouldn’t want any of those snack credits to go to waste!

It’s also really important to check each table service location when you make your dining reservations to see whether that location requires one or two credits. Signature Dining locations generally require two table service meal credits, while most other locations only require one. To check, just click on "View Dining Plans and Discounts" on the restaurant's page on the Walt Disney World website. For example, at my favorite restaurant 'Ohana, if you click on the "View Dining Plans and Discounts" link and then click "Dining Plans," you'll see that it only requires one table service credit at either breakfast or dinner.

Darrius, I think you will love the Disney Dining Plan! If you are interested in any recommendations for must-try snacks or great locations to use your meal credits, stop back by and see me. Dining just might be my favorite topic when it comes to Disney vacation planning, so I’m here to help!

With faith, trust, & pixie dust,
