I will be going to Disney the last week of Sept. I have a 3 year old son & a little girl that will be turning 18 months while in Disney. What are the best tips for bringing young kids? I am so worried about bringing my daughter with us!

    Hi Angela,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  We're glad you're hEAR! Don't worry - I've been bringing my boys to Disney since they were born & we've always had a great time. I've had a blast seeing them "grow" up at Disney World.

Your kids can ride any of the attractions where they meet the height requirements (HRs). You can find a list of the attractions with HRs by visiting the Traveling with Little Ones section on the Disney World Website. There you will find a PDF file on the right side of that page that lists attractions at all of the theme parks that have HRs.

I found that when my boys were around 18 months, they weren't really frightened by any of the attractions unless they were startled by any sudden loud noises (i.e., fireworks).  They became more frightened around the age of 3 but your son may be different.  My boys didn't have a problem with any of the attractions in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom at those ages.

The biggest challenge for my boys at those ages was keeping them entertained in line.  Bring something to help keep them entertained in line - favorite small toys, snacks, bubbles, etc.  You can also play games like peek-a-boo.  Be sure to give them breaks from their stroller. Try (it will be hard) to stick to nap times. Go to the parks early while they're fresh.  When you see they've had enough, pack it up and head back to your resort. Take advantage of the Baby Care Centers located in each theme park. Click here for some tips on strollers.

Take your time & experience the magic through their eyes. Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
