Going to Disney with kids and grandparents- each making our own reservations at Poly. Can we still request connecting rooms? Can we purchase the Deluxe DP and my parents the basic even though we will eat all meals together? Will this cause a problem?

Heather, we visited with my parents and grandmother last September.  In spite of the fact that we made our reservations separately, our request for adjoining rooms was accommodated.

As for the dining plan, it shouldn't be a problem for you to use the Deluxe dining plan and your parents to use the basic dining plan.  The server at the restaurant will request a room key from each party after the meal and at that time you will tell him or her how many meal credits to deduct from each card.  It shouldn't cause a problem at all for your party to be on two different dining plans.  Enjoy your trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
