Hello, We are going to Disney in June & will be staying at the All Star Sports Resort. What makes rooms prefered? I have requested to stay close to the lobby & cafetria. Are these louder rooms and how far is the laundry room & pools.

Hi Melissa, You've picked a fun Resort for your upcoming vacation!

The difference between a "Preferred" and "Standard" room is location in relation to the food court and lobby. At Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, the 2 "Surfs Up!" buildings are Preferred buildings. All of the other buildings, "Hoops Hotel", "Center Court", "Homerun Hotel" and "Touchdown" are all considered Standard.

The "Touchdown" building is the closest to the food court / lobby / bus stops of the standard locations.

You can call the All Star Sports Resort at: 407-939-5000 nine days prior to your arrival and ask to speak with the Room Assigner. If you've paid for a standard room as opposed to a preferred room, request to be in the Touchdown building. While requests are never guaranteed, Disney does do their best to accommodate based on availability.

The main pool is located by the food court, lobby and "Surfs Up" buildings. It's location can cause cause a bit of noise and congestion for the rooms that surround it. When we stayed at All-Star Sports, we were in Touchdown and were very happy with the location. It was still close to everything, but was a bit quieter.

The other pool, "Grand Slam" is located near Home Run Hotel. It has a Goofy statue that spouts water and the pool is shaped like a baseball diamond. Touchdown is in-between the 2 pools.

The coin operated laundry rooms are located adjacent to each pool.

Hope this helps and have a magical vacation!
