We are going to Disney in June. What would be a fun, "Disney" way to count down for our trip?? Also, what are some fun things to do on the way up (21 hour car ride)??

    Hi Jessica!

If you are anything like me, you might find it very hard to focus on absolutely anything but your upcoming magical, fabulous vacation!  Imagine how difficult it must be for kids who really don't understand the whole concept of time - three months might as well be three years in their little minds!

One of the first things that I like to do is download a Disney countdown clock - if you Google (don't you love that Google is a verb???) "Disney countdown clock" many great options will pop up.   A very cheap and easy way to create an actual countdown calendar is to purchase a notebook that flips from the top- progressively add numbers until you reach "LEAVE FOR DISNEY WORLD!!!!"  Have your kids help by adding Disney stickers on each page to add their own personal touch.   My boys love each creating and having their own books - less fighting that way as well!

Why not give your children a small present to open each day?   Just head down to your local discount store and pick up little things that the kids can use on the trip.  Think  cheap and practical - sunscreen, sugar free gum, sunglasses and then wrap them up.  So much fun!

OK, so the big day is here and you are all packed and ready to go.  WAIT!  Get back out and make everyone use the potty - LOL!!!  Depending on the ages of your kids, you can print out park maps and attraction descriptions and have each kid pick out the rides that they want to go on and create a loose schedule for each day.    I find that the more I empower my kids and let them assist in the planning, the less arguing we encounter in the parks!

Have a magical vacation with your family!
