    Going to Disney in July with my 10 year old son and husband. So excited! My question is that we have the DDP but my son is an extremely selective eater. Can he order off the children's menu at restaurants, even though he is considered an "adult"?

    Hi, Sarah!

    My son is the king of "chicken nuggets and fries" so I know where you coming from!  Your son is welcome to order from the children's menu.  The servers are very accommodating to our picky eaters, and they will go out of their way to make sure your son eats well.  Even if you do not see an item on the menu (in my case, the all important chicken nuggets!) make sure to ask. They cannot always make it happen, but often they will be able to get you something not on the menu.

    Your son will be charged with an adult credit from the dining plan even though he orders the children's meal.  I usually ask for an "adult sized portion of the kids meal" to make sure my little guy gets enough to eat.  I ask for both the adult and kids menu for my son, and sometimes he surprises me and gets something from the adult menu, so give it a try, your son might just find a new favorite food!

    Then there is always the tried-and-true:  Buffets!  Here, everyone can get exactly what they want and as much as they want.  Hmm, if only I could have someone prepare a buffet in my kitchen at home each night, wouldn't that be nice :)
