Hi moms, we are going to Disney in July and are concerned with the grass, my daughter (10) cannot handle the grass in the POFQ and the courtyard for wishes besides a blanket what tips do you have for leaving the itches at home.

Hi Tina! Disney does a beautiful job with all of their landscaped and grassy areas and it will certainly be tempting for children to want to play in those areas. Since your daughter has some issues with grass you will still be able to enjoy all of the amenities without having her suffer.

Definitely consider having a fold up blanket or ground cover. There are many on the market that fold into small bundles or squares that you can easily bring along into the parks or at the resort if needed. The parks will actually not have much grass for you to worry about. When it comes to the grassy areas of the Castle Hub in the Magic Kingdom you can easily avoid and stand or sit on benches in the surrounding area. There are many great places to watch the parades and fireworks that are not in front of the castle so it might be a great time to investigate some of these other locations. We have always loved being over by Space Mountain for the fireworks views as it is not crowded and there are some tables and chairs to sit and relax and enjoy the show. Another spot is actually behind the castle. It gives you a different perspective to the whole show. For the parade we enjoy spots in Frontierland which tend to be less crowded then Main Street.

I know you and your family will have a wonderful and magical Disney vacation this summer. If there is anything else we can do help you plan please let us know.
