Hi Kristie,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!
I’ll be honest: I was skeptical when they announced that Wishes was being replaced by a new nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom Park. But
Happily Ever After absolutely blew me away! It’s a worthy successor to Wishes, both in terms of the music and the visual beauty of the show itself.
One of the things that can be a bit disappointing, however, is the fact that it’s harder to see the projection elements unless you have a prime spot in front of Cinderella Castle. Because the show is still so new and extremely popular, Guests often have to find a spot an hour or more before the show (especially during busier times of year, like the summer).
I recently had the chance to experience the
Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing and it has now become my favourite way to see the show. The sweet treats are great but the reserved area for fireworks viewing was what really put it over the top for me. In fact, in my opinion it’s even better than the
Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace (i.e. with reserved seats for the show) because you really do have a front and center view of the show. It really is the best “bang for your buck”, as far as dessert parties go.
I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort this July. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
