Hi Anne,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this delicious dining plan question to us! The
Dining Plans are a great value for my family!
Yes, both plans separate adult and child meals. Each guest age 3-years old and over will receive the same number of meals and snacks. We have used both the Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan worked well for us when our girls were younger. When they turned 9-years old, we switched to the Deluxe Dining Plan and it is now our preferred dining plan.
The Deluxe Dining Plan, with three meals and two snacks per day per person 3-years old and over, is a lot of food! Now that our girls are older, they eat more and we do not feel like we waste food. We also do mostly table-service meals on the Deluxe Dining Plan. Since we now take a more leisurely approach to our vacation than when we did when the girls were younger and we are no longer in a rush to see everything at the parks, the Deluxe Dining Plan works well for us. I will add that we love the flexibility of the Deluxe Dining Plan. We have enough meals to experience all of the
Character Meals we want and to visit at least two signature restaurants!
I also like to remind guests to budget for the additional tips you may have to leave on the Deluxe Dining Plan. Since you will more than likely do more table-service meals, assuming you have great service, you will spend more money on tips!
I hope this helps!
