We're going to Disney for my husband's work conference and extending our stay after the conference.. I plan to go to the parks while my husband is at conference. Can I add days to only my park ticket when I have a package (room/tickets) booked?

Well hello there, Olivia. Welcome back to planDisney!

How convenient that your husband is going to be at the Walt Disney World Resort for a conference...and how smart of you to tag along and extend your stay! Especially in November. At this time of year, the separately ticketed Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park is usually in full swing. And even if you're not planning on attending the party, this means that Magic Kingdom Park will likely already be all decked out for the holidays! Be sure to follow along with the Disney Parks Blog for the reveal of this year's dates and any other special offerings that may pop up when you are there!

Currently, all Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel as part of a vacation package must have the same number of days on their ticket. As such, if you'd like to have more days in the parks just for yourself, you would need to purchase a separate theme park ticket for those additional days. Just note that you will need to pay the entire theme park ticket price for this separate ticket at the time of purchase. The other option is that you could rebook your vacation as separately purchased theme park tickets and hotel room (not a vacation package). But before you do that, just check to see if your dates are still available, compare prices, and note that you won't be able to book a dining plan with this option.

Now I know that the holidays will have started to arrive by the time you visit, but don't let that overshadow the other offerings that will likely be new to you if you aren't visiting the resort before then. Firstly, Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom Park will still have that "new ride smell" (is that a thing?) because it opens this summer on June 28, 2024. Plus, the Country Bear Musical Jamboree will also likely be open for you to sing along with and enjoy! You'll want to check and see if "The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure," slated to open this fall in Disney's Hollywood Studios, has opened when you are there. And of course, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be running from August 29th to November 23, 2024. And this year, it should be even more exciting as the brand-new CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will be open and will likely kick this festival up a notch!

Olivia, I hope your husband has a very productive conference and that you enjoy all those days in the parks. I'll be here if you have any other questions that need answering!

Love is a song that never ends,
    Matt
