We will be at Disney for Halloween this year. Did not want to pay extra for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Does Downtown Disney (Disney Springs) still do the Halloween events & trick or treating from 5-9 like they have before in years past?

Hello Katherine, thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I will also be at Walt Disney World for Halloween this year, how fun!  Other than Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, there are no specific scheduled events happening on Halloween this year.  In years past Disney Springs, formerly Downtown Disney, has hosted trick or treating but nothing was announced about it for this year.  I do know that most resorts should have some type of Halloween activity going on during the day such as a costume contest, themed arts and crafts and a special showing of a Halloween movie under the stars.  When you check in, I would ask about the activities so you know what to plan for ahead of time.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground would be a fun place to visit on Halloween. A lot of campsites and cabins have elaborate decorations and they are so fun to see!  A few of my friends are there now and have shared some pictures with me and all I can say is wow.. people go all out!  I'd imagine that if people are decorating their cabins and campers, they just might be prepared for trick or treaters as well.

I hope this gives you a few ideas on how to celebrate Halloween while you are at Walt Disney World.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
