Hi Disney go-ers, I have a trip planned in mid-November with my 2 year old and husband. I'm nervous with how I'm going to make my 2.5 year old at that time wear a mask? He won't even wear a hat for me. Any tips? Thank you kindly! Julia

Welcome to the Big Blue World, Julia. Thanks for swimming by and visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’m sure you are filled with a whirlwind of emotions as you continue to plan for this upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. (You might even get to see one of those beloved emotions at EPCOT!) When it comes to your little Mouseketeer and the use of face coverings, I recommend practicing at home!

When my oldest turned 3 (and needed a ticket to visit) I knew he’d want to wear his very own MagicBand. What we did at home was practice him wearing it around the house and during our daily errands. We did “MagicBand checks” every hour to make sure it was still on until he felt comfortable wearing it.

I’m now doing the same with face coverings here at home for both my 5-year old and 2-year old. I’ve found that talking about the face coverings have helped get them excited and willing to wear one! You may also want to consider letting him pick out his own style of face coverings to help make it more relatable and exciting. My Mouseketeers ended up picking out their own sets online. ShopDisney has some really cute options to choose from, my youngest cannot wait for her Star Wars themed ones to arrive! (Tip: Be sure to pack more than one face covering for your Mouseketeer while visiting the parks).

I hope this helps, Julia. I know that together, we can make your next Disney day Incredible! If you find that you need any more help as you continue to plan for this visit, be sure to swim on back to us. Until then, “just keep swimming, just keep swimming”.
