    Can Disney Gift cards be used as the payment method in the my Disney app?

    Yes, you absolutely can use a Disney Gift Card as a method of payment in the My Disney Experience App! I just reconfirmed it with my own account by going through the process of placing a Mobile Food Order, and while I am sad that I won't be able to actually eat some corn dog nuggets from Casey's Corner for lunch today, I did find it easy to add that card.

    BONUS TIP
    What I would suggest you do, to speed things along, is to add your Disney Gift Cards ahead of time. You cannot actually do it from the standard "Payment Method" page at this time. But what you can do is this.

    • In the My Disney Experience App, open a restaurant like you were going to place a mobile order. Don't worry, you won't have to complete the order! In that mobile order menu, add something to your order, and proceed through to the payment stage.
    • In that stage, you are initially prompted to pay with a specific method. In my case, using an iPhone, it prompts me to use Apple Pay. But underneath that there should be a choice for "Use a Different Payment Method". Choose that.
    • One of the choices is to add Disney Gift Cards, Disney Dining Cards, or Rewards Redemption Cards. You can add up to 5 Disney Gift Cards or Dining Cards, and 2 Rewards Redemption Cards.
    • After adding them, just cancel out the order. Now you should have them in there, ready to go!
    This should have you squared away and ready to go. But please feel free to write me back directly with any follow-up questions.
