Greetings, Mechelle! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
Disney Gift Cards are a really convenient way to pay for theme park tickets, food, and merchandise at the Disneyland Resort. You can certainly use Disney Gift Cards in the parks, but since a lot of the shops and restaurants in the
Downtown Disney District are independently owned, you can only use gift cards at select locations including World of Disney, Marceline's Confectionery, D-Street, WonderGround Gallery, and Disney's Pin Traders. It's also possible that the new Disney Dress Shop accepts Disney Gift Cards, but it's best to confirm with an associate if you are shopping there.
Another place you can use Disney Gift Cards are at the shops and restaurants located in the
Disneyland Resort Hotels. Furthermore, if you are a guest of a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you can even use a Disney Gift Card to pay for your lodging.
If you plan on using multiple gift cards or putting large sums of money on gift cards to help pay for your vacation, I suggest registering the gift cards online. You can transfer funds among gift cards and it may even help you reclaim funds if the gift card is lost or stolen. Plus, you can always check the balance of your gift cards online and the balance will be shown on your receipts when you make a purchase as well.
I hope this helps! See ya real soon!
