Hiya, Taylor, and welcome to planDisney!
You're less than two months away from the magic! Can you believe it?!? Right now is a great time to start making your packing list, deciding your magical must-dos, and planning for your budget.
When considering your budget, you'll be happy to hear, Taylor, that
Disney Gift Cards can indeed be used as payment at most locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, no matter where the gift card was purchased. The only places where Disney Gift Cards are not accepted are locations that are not Disney-owned or operated. Personally, I've used Disney Gift Cards to purchase meals, snacks, merchandise, experiences, and even make payments towards Disney Resort hotel stays. While using a Disney Gift Card won't secure a discount when used as a payment method, the savings accumulated when purchasing gift cards from a third-party retailer can really add up to a great value, and any savings on a Disney vacation feels a lot like magic!
If you have multiple Disney Gift Cards, you can conveniently consolidate the funds onto a single card (up to $1,000) using the
Disney Gift Card website by logging in, selecting 'My Cards', adding your cards, and then transferring the balance. While Disney Gift Cards cannot be stored as a form of payment in the
My Disney Experience app, they can be stored in your Apple Wallet. If you'd like to use your gift card as a method of payment in the app, you can do so by manually entering the card number and EAN. Personally, I like to store this information in my phone's notes app so that I can quickly copy and paste the numbers when I'm ready to make a purchase.
I hope this helps, Taylor, and that you'll come back to see us again at
planDisney. You've got a friend in me!
Dream a Fantastic Dream,
Lizzie
