Hi Donna!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'll bet you are super excited that your Disney Dream vacation is almost here.
Castaway Cay is my favorite island destination in the Bahamas and pure paradise!
I love how you are trying to stretch your Disney dollars (or in this case gift cards) by finding discounts on items like professional photography.
Pre-purchase of a photobook or photo package is actually handled by My Cruise Photos and not Disney Cruise Line. For that reason, Disney gift cards are not a method of payment you can use for pre-purchase. This is just when it comes to paying for the photo packages and products in advance of your sailing.
But you can absolutely use a Disney gift card for photo purchases once onboard. It's a really smart approach to paying for onboard purchases like spa treatments,
meals at Palo, or beverage seminars. Here's how we handle all our charges. We use our Key to the World card and charge everything to our stateroom account. On the day before disembarking the ship, we stop by Guest Services (Deck 3, Midship) and have the Disney Gift Card(s) credited to our account.
Some of my favorite experiences on a Disney cruise are the
Character Greetings, and there are photographers available as you have those fun interactions with Captain Mickey and his pals. While you're finalizing your plans, be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once onboard, you'll be able to access the schedules for these character meet and greets as well as activities, dining menus, ship maps, and even a fun onboard texting feature.
Sending you pixie dust as you make vacation memories and have photos made every step of the way. Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before you set sail!
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
