Hey there, Jennifer. I'm so glad you've stopped by
planDisney to chit-chat about your
Walt Disney World vacation later this year. It will be here before you know it.
Jennifer, I think you'll be happy to know that you can absolutely pay for charges to the room with a
Disney Gift Card. In fact, I just did this on the last trip I went to Walt Disney World. I always ask for Disney Gift Cards for holidays and birthdays and use them to pay off things I've charged to the room. It makes for such a nice gift.
To do this, Jennifer, you'll need to stop by the front desk of the
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that you happen to be staying at when you arrive. Speak to them about what the current policy for billing charges is. They don't charge each credit card every time you make a purchase but rather do a big billing every 48 hours-ish. To keep from having to go back and forth to the lobby every few days so your credit card on file doesn't get charged, you can basically prepay some charges with your Disney Gift Card. They basically add the funds to your account like a credit and then deduct what you spend from that first. However, I want to mention that if you don't spend the full amount that you put on your account, you aren't given that money back. So if you've applied a $500 Disney Gift Card to your account and only end up using $450, you would be out the additional $50. When I've done this in the past, I like to just make a pit stop at the lobby every evening or every other evening and just pay off the charges with my Disney Gift Card that way. It's a little bit of an extra step but then there isn't a risk of being out any extra money.
I hope you have a great time visiting Walt Disney World in October, Jennifer. It's one of the funniest times of the year to visit, in my opinion. I love all of the fun fall decore that decks out the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. If you have any other questions as you plan your trip, feel free to
reach back out to me. I'm here to help!
Boo to you!
