Ahoy there, Laura, and welcome to planDisney! As someone who loves maximizing my vacation budget, I appreciate that you’re already thinking ahead about how to use your Disney Gift Cards while sailing on the
Disney Dream.
The happy news is that yes, Disney Gift Cards are accepted on Disney Cruise Line. The easiest way to use them is to apply them to your stateroom account. Once onboard, just stop by Guest Services and ask to have the balance from your gift card transferred to your account. This way, every purchase you make will be deducted from the credit you’ve already loaded. Just make sure to do this at least one day before your cruise ends.
If you’d like to take care of this before you sail, you can also convert gift cards into Onboard Credit by visiting the “
Onboard Gifts” section of the Disney Cruise Line website. Simply log in to your reservation, choose 'Shop by Category’, then select ‘Onboard Credit’. It’s a seamless way to make sure your spending money is ready to go before you even set foot on the ship.
Now, if you prefer to pay with the gift card directly, there are certain spots you can do that as well, like Mickey’s Mainsail for souvenirs or even on Castaway Cay. I know when my kids were little, we used to give them each a
Disney Gift Card to use on the ship, and they loved handing that card over to a Cast Member when finding a new favorite plushie or picking the perfect pin for trading.
I have one more fun tip for you: since you’re sailing on the Disney Dream, you can also use a
DisneyBand+ to make onboard purchases with just a tap of your wrist. It’s waterproof, rechargeable, and makes grabbing that mid-afternoon specialty coffee or last-minute souvenir even easier. Plus, it really simplifies getting on and off the ship!
However you choose to use your Disney Gift Cards, you’ll find they add flexibility and convenience to your cruise. If you have any other questions before your magical vacation, don’t hesitate to head back to us here at

Bon voyage,
