Hello Laura,
Welcome to
planDisney! I am known to always have a Disney Gift Card in my phone, and a physical one in my wallet at all times. I mean you never know when you will need it after all. Right?
I periodically save money and budget for my trips by purchasing
Disney Gift Cards. Some folks use them to pay for meals, some use them for paying off their balance for their stay. Each person has a different way to spend them. I love to spend, and have run into a few of the things you cannot spend a Disney gift card on. One of the first things I ran into when planning my trip was purchasing my pre-arrival
MagicBand+. After many different attempts I called and was informed these are only available for purchase with a credit card or electronic method of payment. In regards to pre-planning I have not run into many other options where you cannot use a gift card.
While you are visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort you can use Disney Gift Cards in most locations. There will be some exceptions, some of the specialty booths at EPCOT during some of the festivals. Like the current
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. And there will also be a couple of locations at Disney Springs that will not accept Disney Gift Cards. For good measure I always ask if I can use my Disney gift card before I order or begin to shop. Whether it’s food or retail, always ask a Cast Member to be 100% sure. Take it from me, asking guarantees you will not be disappointed when at the cash register with your little one.
I hope this information was helpful, and that you will be able to enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World. Stop by again if you have any other planning questions.
See ya real soon,
Jeremy A.
