Hi, Carole!
Thank you for contacting planDisney. I am happy to answer your question about one of my favorite gifts -
Disney Gift Cards! They are the perfect gift for a Disney fan because they can be used in the theme parks, on the
Disney Store website, and yes, even when
onboard the Disney Cruise Line!
Disney Gift Cards can be used for all kinds of things on your Disney Cruise, like
Port Adventures,
Onboard Activities, souvenirs, and photos. You can apply Disney Gift Cards to your stateroom folio (your onboard account) to pay for purchases in advance or use them for expenses as your cruise wraps up.
If you don't want to worry about bringing your Disney Gift Card on vacation, you can use it to pre-purchase Onboard Credit that will go towards your stateroom folio expenses. It is super simple! Just sign in to your account on the Disney Cruise Line website and go to "
Onboard Gifts" under "Already Booked" at the top of the page. Add your reservation information and choose "Onboard Credit" under "Shop by Category." Then, complete the purchase with your Disney Gift Card.
You can also wait to add the Disney Gift Card to your stateroom folio by stopping by
Guest Services onboard the ship. This is helpful if you want to apply the Disney Gift Card towards specific purchases. I prefer to purchase Onboard Credit ahead of time so I can focus on the fun my family is having on our vacation! Regardless of which option you choose, make sure to keep your Disney Gift Card. Any refunds are typically applied toward the original form of payment.
Carole, make sure to book any Port Adventures or Onboard Activities during your
booking window. First-time Guests can usually make these reservations up to 75 days prior to their sail date. I highly recommend dining at
Palo, the adult-only restaurant, and I also enjoy the
Beverage Tasting Seminars. My kids are always excited to meet their favorite Disney Princesses at the
Princess Gathering and receive royal makeovers at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Have the best time!
Happy sailing!
Jen
