Hi Mike!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine with the cold weather up in Pennsylvania you are dreaming of a tropical vacation…and a Disney Cruise Line vacation the perfect solution to that! There are so many
different itineraries to choose from which will result in some fun in the sun with everyone’s favorite Captain…Captain Mickey!
You can certainly use a Disney gift card on Disney Cruise Line! In fact, there are a few ways that you can use it – you can use a gift card to pay for your vacation or you can use it to pay for purchases made onboard! Please be aware that if you opt to use a gift card to pay the balance of your Disney Cruise Line vacation you may need to contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent to process the payment. If you choose to use it for onboard purchases, you can go to Guest Services once onboard to apply the funds to your onboard stateroom account. Gift cards CAN be used in the onboard gift shops for purchases, but any other purchases (bar service, spa reservations,
Port Adventures, etc.) will be charged to your stateroom account that will be settled at the end of your voyage.
One thing that my husband and I have recently started doing is gifting our young boys with a gift card to be used at their discretion (even as hard as that may be for me when they choose their souvinEAR) at the
gift shops. They love the independence it gives them, and they love feeling so “grown up” when they make their purchase!
Please come back with all your other Disney Cruise Line planning questions!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
