Hi Tammy!
Welcome to planDisney. We are so happy to have you here! A December visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is sure to be filled with extra holiday magic. You are going to love the twinkle lights on Main Street, characters in their holiday best, and all the limited-time entertainment and sweet treats! It sounds like you are doing some planning to be sure you have a smooth arrival into the parks. Let's take a look at your question.
I spoke with a Cast Member in
Guest Services this morning who confirmed that you are able to pay for the majority of your ECV rental with a Disney Gift Card - hooray! Currently, there is a $20 deposit required, which would need to be put on a credit card to guarantee the rental and would be refunded to you when you return the vehicle. I hope that is good news for you!
ECVs are available for rent from the Stroller Shop located just to the right of the entrance to Disneyland Park. They are first-come, first-served, so we always recommend heading there early and reading the
rules around ECV usage ahead of time. While you make your way through your park day, you can use the Disneyland app to check how Guests are required to board each attraction and if you will need to park your ECV, transfer to a wheelchair, or if you can remain in your vehicle. To find this information, search for the attraction with the search icon and scroll down to "Accessibility & Other Information" and tap the drop-down menu. Additionally, you can always head to the
Accessibility Services Kiosk in the Esplanade to ask any specific questions around
resources for Guests with mobility disabilities.
Tammy, I sure hope this has been helpful! While you are planning your holiday visit, be sure to check the
Entertainment Schedule to earmark any must-see spectaculars or parades! There is so much happening in the parks this time of year, you won't want to miss a thing!
If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
