Can I use a Disney gift card to pay for the dining plan?

    Hi Michelle,

In short, the answer is "yes" and "no". It depends when you are wanting to apply the gift card. Essentially, the Disney Gift Card can be used at any time during the reservation process to apply a payment to a reservation. For example, let's say  you originally made your reservation (and paid for) Room and Park tickets (no dining plan). Then you reconsidered and decided you want to add the Dining Plan...you would now have a balance remaining. You can use the Disney Gift Card for payment purposes, by calling and having them apply the Gift Card to the balance over the phone. Any of the Dining Plans are just an additional piece of your booking, so you can use the Gift Card from home to pay for it.

However, because your reservation needs to be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival, you can't use the Disney Gift Card at check in to pay for the Dining Plan.

Gift Cards can be used to pay on a future reservation or for food, gifts, etc on your vacation.

It's a bit confusing, and I hope I was able to clarify for you. If not, please don't hesitate to send me a follow-up question.

    Have a great vacation!
