Do you still get a Disney gift card when you opt out of having your room cleaned while staying at one of the Disney resorts

It's a small world after all, Alana, and I'm so glad you found your way to planDisney!

Your Walt Disney World vacation will be here before you know it, and I couldn’t be more excited for you! Though some experiences may look a little bit different, Disney magic is still alive and well!

I believe you’re referring to the Service Your Way program, which allowed Guests to opt-out of housekeeping in exchange for a gift card. Currently, the Service Your Way Program is unavailable as the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels undergo new and enhanced cleaning procedures. Here’s a helpful page to check out all the details regarding these changes. Look under the “Cleaning” section to get the scoop. During your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning every other day, which will include the following services: Removal of trash and used towels, replenishment of towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom, wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces, and vacuuming, if needed. You can choose to decline this service, though you won’t receive a gift card at this time.

I checked with a Cast Member, and she told me that you're welcome to call the Front Desk to request a bedding change whenever you’d like it. If you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member using your Membership during your stay, you’ll receive service on the fourth and eighth days, unless you decide to decline these services.

In addition to the services mentioned above, your room will also undergo a thorough cleaning prior to your arrival, including special attention to high-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles. Housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms, and floors will be steam-cleaned and vacuumed between Guests. I also love the addition of individually-wrapped glassware and double-cased pillows.

Last but not least, you can also expect increased cleaning in high-traffic areas, such as public elevators and escalators, handrails, benches, and more.

Before your visit, I recommend checking out this page to learn what to expect. From Park Reservations to Face Coverings, all the information you need is there!

Alana, I’m sending pixie dust your way for safe travels and magical adventures to come!
