Aloha Sophorn and welcome to planDisney!
Your upcoming vacation to
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is right around the corner, you must be getting excited about heading to the place where the sky meets the sea! My family visited Aulani just over a year ago and we all dream of the next time we'll set foot on the sands of the Ko Olina lagoon.
To jump right to your question, Sophorn, I checked with an Aulani Cast Member and I'm happy to share that yes, the Disney gift card is accepted for the Character breakfast at
Makahiki. Makahiki is a family-friendly restaurant that offers fresh, local foods and my favorite part is you can either dine inside surrounded by local artwork and intricate stained glass or you can dine al fresco on a beautiful lanai right next to a koi pond!
My family finds using Disney Gift Cards helpful when budgeting (especially as Canadians since we have to keep currency conversion in mind). Aulani Guests can use the gift cards at various places around the resort such as
Laniwai - A Disney Spa with the
Kula Wai outdoor hydrotherapy garden (it's the only one on O‘ahu),
Ulu Cafe - a quick-service restaurant across from the
Rainbow Reef (try the Poke bowl, it's delicious!) or even at
Kālepa's Store if you're searching for the perfect souvenir to bring home.
Tip: While you’re visiting Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, be sure to visit the
Pau Hana Room - Community Hall. This game room has so many activities, amenities, and amusement for everyone! It is also where you can register for daily activities (subject to change) such as the
Menehune Adventure Trail (my family loved completing this at night as it has an extra bit of magic in the dark), make your own Aulani-inspired Mickey Ears, ‘ukulele lessons and Kāpala Ki'i - a t-shirt stamping activity. I also highly recommend checking the
Daily ‘Iwa, it highlights the week’s events and activities so you can better plan your stay. It will tell you when and where to meet Characters, feed the fish at Rainbow Reef, and if there are beach activities you might like to partake in with your family.
Mahalo for visiting planDisney, Sophorn. If you have any other vacation planning questions, please stop by
planDisney again!
