How does Disney Genie+ Service work and when can I schedule?

Hey there, John! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney. It's a true pleasure to see you here!

You bring a wonderful question today! I'm always so happy to see my fellow Guests asking about the Disney Genie+ service before embarking on their very own Disney adventure. After all, this service was specifically designed to make our vacations run smoothly!

First of all, let me explain just how the Disney Genie service works before telling you how to use it properly. I want you to pretend that you're Aladdin and I'm the Genie, okay? Now, of course, you have not one, not two, but THREE wishes! Your first wish has a name: Disney Genie service. Disney Genie is a complimentary service that you can access through the My Disney Experience mobile app, and what it does is that it takes your personal preferences, Theme Park reservations, dining reservations, and more in order to design a personalized itinerary created just for you.

Your second wish will be known as Disney Genie+ service. Genie+ is a service that you'll be able to purchase through the Disney Genie section within the My Disney Experience mobile app for a small daily fee, and it will let you schedule Lightning Lane entrances for over 40 attractions and experiences throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Lightning Lane entrances will allow you to bypass the standard queues at these attractions and experiences, thus making your vacation that much more efficient! You'll be able to make your first Lightning Lane selection at 7:00 a.m. EST regardless of where you're staying. But that's not the only thing that you can do with Disney Genie+, John. In fact, you'll also have access to Audio Tales (kind of like a special podcast filled with secrets and fun facts about the Resort) and special Disney PhotoPass lenses. Wonderful, right?

And now, we're on to your final wish: Individual Lightning Lane entrances. These entrances can be purchased for separate fees, meaning that they won't be included in your Disney Genie+ service purchase. Individual Lightning Lane entrances will let you bypass the standard queues at the newest and most in-demand attractions throughout the Resort (like the new Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT, for example). If you're a Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guest, you'll be able to purchase your first Individual Lightning Lane at 7:00 a.m. EST, and right at park opening if you're staying elsewhere. Keep in mind, however, that you're welcome to wait in the standard queue at every single attraction at no extra charge!

I hope that my answer has helped clarify things for you, Jonh. Please don't hesitate to come back if you have any other questions about Disney Genie or anything else!

    See you real soon,
