Hello Evan!
With so many amazing questions being asked about the
Disneyland Resort, it looks like maybe we missed your visit, and you were in the parks this past week! But in case your trip has not happened yet, and for other Guests that may have this same question, I wanted to be sure you got an answer from us here on planDisney.
Evan, FastPass+ and MaxPass have been permanently retired. They have not returned since the Disneyland Resort reopened earlier this year, and there are no plans to bring them back to the parks. Instead, Disney is getting ready to roll out
Disney Genie and Genie+ later this fall! Disney Genie Service will be complimentary for all Guests and will help you customize your park plans for the day. Stay up to date with current wait times and adjust plans as needed, make dining reservations, mobile order food, and more! This is one aspect I am really interested in. As a Disney Parks expert, I typically have a touring plan for our day, but as my husband says, “Always be ready to call an audible!” as the day unfolds. With Disney Genie supplying not just current wait times but predicted future wait times, I think my park touring is going to go next level!
Genie+ will be an additional purchase and will allow Guests to select an entrance time to an attraction’s Lightning Lane, where they can experience the attraction with shorter than typical waits. Guests may hold one Lightning Lane reservation at a time, and book subsequent Lightning Lane reservations on a rolling basis as they use each one. Disney Genie+ will be very similar to the very popular MaxPass at the Disneyland Resort. Additionally, select high-demand attractions will have a separately paid option for Lightning Lane access.
Stay tuned Evan, for more information about Disney Genie, including a starting date. I know my fellow planDisney Panelists and I are excited to try it out so we can share our tips and tricks for using it in the parks! Hopefully, Disney Genie will be something that will enhance your future visits.
I hope your trip to the Disneyland Resort was magical, even without FastPass!
