When does Disney generally announce Florida resident ticket specials for the following year. Planning on visiting in January of 2018.

    Hi Bienvenido,

Walt Disney World offers some fabulous discounts for those of us who live in Florida. You will always find current offers on the website in the Florida Resident section. Annual pass discounts are offered year-round and include a special option only available to those of us who live in the state -- the monthly payment plan. My family always takes advantage of this interest-free option to spread the cost of our Walt Disney World fun out over 12 months.

Other discount offers vary. There's normally a price break on three- or four-day tickets for Florida residents available any time. I believe you are interested in the even more heavily discounted Discover Disney ticket for Florida residents, which are sometimes offered in the spring. When it is available, the ticket special normally is announced right after the first of the year and is valid until the beginning of the peak summer season.

Some blockout dates do apply to discounted Florida resident tickets, usually for peak weeks around Easter, Christmas and in the summer. You will find details of the blockout dates on the pages I've linked above.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Bienvenido. Please let us know if you have any more questions about Florida resident discounts. A number of us live in the state and are happy to share our experiences as Florida resident passholders and ticket holders.  (Make sure you check out any resort specials for Florida residents, too. Those are usually announced a few weeks in advance.)

Enjoy planning your 2018 Walt Disney World vacation!
