Does Disney Fort Wilderness open up more campsite slots as the year goes on? Every time I check the dates I want, it says they don't have anything available.

Hi Jen! We are frequent guests ourselves at the Fort Wilderness Campsites at Walt Disney World. This resort is so special offering so many unique things that it has also become extremely popular.

Holidays are especially difficult to get a reservation for such as Halloween and Christmas. Many are booking a year ahead to make sure they have a spot. In the past years we have seen a trend that the weekends book up and the week days are more open. I suggest you book what days you are able to and then work with the resort to try to extend the stay. With so many Florida specials it appears that the Floridians are coming for the weekends and that is why it is so much harder to get those days.

Extend your search to include more days around the times you wish to go. Once you have something booked you can cancel what you don't need. And definitely keep trying each day as dates will open up. The other thing we have been told is to not worry about the type of site such as Premium, Preferred, or Full Hook-up. Take whatever is available and again then work with the resort as to what you will need for your stay. It is like a giant puzzle and the pieces will eventually fit so everyone is happy!
