We are going to Disney the first week of June. We have a 5-year-old and an 8-year-old. We are trying to decide between Port Orleans Riverside or Wilderness Lodge. Is Wilderness worth the extra cost? What is better at Wilderness? How's the pool?

Andrea, if I had a choice between the two resorts, I wouldn't hesitate to select the Wilderness Lodge.  In fact when we visit WDW, we always try to make sure and visit the Wilderness Lodge just to see it again since it is so amazing.  Of course, we still have always enjoyed our stays at Port Orleans Riverside, but we love the feel of the Pacific Northwest and great lodges of the national parks the Wilderness Lodge has.  it also is contained within one building, so it is easy to get around in.  I also noticed you are traveling In June, which can be rainy.  Having your room inside the resort can be very beneficial!  We were actually at Port Orleans Riverside when a hurricane came inland, so we were pretty much stuck in our room since we were too wimpy to brave the heavy rain and wind to get to the main building.  It may also help to think about how much time you will actually be in your room.  If you think it will be just for sleeping, then saving the money on the room may allow your family to do some other things. I've included a link to each resort to let you explore each further and see the pools, which are both fun!
