I am going to Disney for the first time with me, my wife and 6 year old daughter. We are trying to decide between a couple of the moderate hotels. We will probably spend one of the 6 days we are there by the pool. Coronado Springs or Beach Resort?

Resort selection can be intimidating as you sort through all the amenities that are offered!  As I live in Indiana as well, the idea of a day at the pool right now is pretty enticing!

The moderate resorts all have wonderful pools that include a themed water slide. Coronado Springs has always been one of my favorite moderates.  It was the first one to have queen beds versus double beds although this has finally started to change over at the Port Orleans resort. Other great amenities that are included at Coronado are the spa, outdoor fitness center, room service menu, full service restaurant (Maya Grill), wider variety of food at the Pepper Market food court, and a small marina.  This is a convention resort so the amenities have been extended at this moderate to appeal to groups that come in.  Being a convention resort should not scare you, however, as these guests are often in meetings during the day leaving the pools and dining areas open and not crowded.

Coronado Springs has three quiet pools around the buildings where there will not be lifeguards.  The main attraction is the Lost City of Cibola pool complex where you can find a 123 foot long water slide and kiddie pool with fountains.

You also mentioned the Beach Club resort as a possible choice and this resort does share the best pool facility on property with the Yacht Club called Stormalong Bay.  However......this is a deluxe resort and thus the pricing for a room here would be much greater then Coronado Springs.  You need to check on specials as you never know and can get lucky.  The pool is amazing.  It has sandy bottoms, many different areas and many connected to each other, a large pirate ship slide, hot tubs, and much more.

I know the choice will be difficult and the cost might choose for you but you won't be disappointed with either resort!
