Hello moms! we are going to disney for the first time the 16th of Nov. but won't be going to the parks until the 17th. What are some fun, inexpensive things to do outside of the park with a 2, 4, and 6 year old?

    Deanna:

Your trip is just days away!

I typically recommend to families, especially with little ones, to use that first day to explore your resort but if you find more time on your hands, consider heading over to Fort Wilderness for Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Singalong.  The evening begins when the fire pots are lit at 6:40 (7:40 p.m. during Daylight Savings Time) and then the singalong starts at 7:00 p.m. with Chip 'n' Dale making the rounds to visit all in attendance. You can buy s'mores fixin's at the Canteen located at the ampitheater, or just pack your own.

If you have a car, you can drive to Fort Wilderness and park in its lot. To get to the ampitheater, go to the bus stop and take the yellow bus to the stop near the 1500 loop. Cross the road and walk toward the tennis courts. Veer to the right and you'll see the ampitheater.

If you don't a have a car, take a bus to Magic Kingdom and use the ferry near the front gate to get to the pier of Fort Wilderness--the kids will love the boat ride. From the pier, walk toward Pioneer Hall and its bus stop, which is about 100 yards from the pier. You can get on the yellow line from there. Although you could probably walk from the pier to the singalong, you'd need to keep the little ones in a stroller.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
