Going to disney for the first time 5/22-5/30, 2010. How far in advance do you recommend making dining reservations?

    Hi Amy!

We have been to Disney World so many times during the end of May!  It seems like our kiddos in Louisiana get out a week earlier than most states - such a great bonus for us.  Of course, we also have to deal with hurricanes and swarms of mosquitos, but hey, we can't win them all!  Disney is converting back to a 180 day dining window, which means that you will be able to make your "ressies" on November 23, 2009.  This is right around the corner!

I suggest checking out www.AllEars.net and going over the menus and reviews to see what meals are on your family's "don't miss" list.  Next, I advise making your Advanced Dining Reservations online, for the best chance of getting those hard to obtain meals.  I would start with your favorite restaraunt first and then add others next.  For instance, if you would like one of the coveted seats at Cinderella's Royal Table, then I would make that reservation first.  The online system opens a FULL HOUR before the phone lines, at 6:00 AM Eastern time.  Unfortunately for us Louisiana chicks, this means 5:00 AM!!!

So, long story short, set your alarm clock, grab your coffee and hit the computer at 4:58 AM ( Central Standard Time) on November 23, 2009.  Best of luck and have a magical vacation!

    Much pixie dust,
