Hello there!
Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney! I find it is so easy to be fully immersed in the Star Wars universe when visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Depending on the visit, am I working with the Resistance to
hack Black Spire Outpost on my data pad, hoping not to run into a
Star Destroyer on my way to General Organa’s secret base? Or am I assisting the First Order, waiting to pledge allegiance to
Kylo Ren as he patrols Batuu followed by Stormtroopers?
The
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules do not list lightsabers or lightsaber sheaths as prohibited items in the theme parks. You should be able to bring your lightsaber sheath into Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as long as it cannot be used in a way that endangers other Guests. You will have to take your sheath through the Security checkpoint before entering the theme park, so ultimately it is up to the discretion of the Security Cast Members.
If you are participating in the handbuilt lightsaber experience at
Savi’s Workshop, your lightsaber will come with a carrying case. This is a soft case with padding to protect the blade. While you might not want to use it for photos, it would be helpful for carrying your lightsaber through the park for the rest of the day.
You might also want to check out the
Capture Your Moment Experience on Batuu. You’ll have a dedicated PhotoPass photographer to capture the best photos of you around Galaxy’s Edge. These photographers do a great job of finding locations to take your photo, including in front of the Millennium Falcon if you’d like.
May the Force be with you as you explore Black Spire Outpost! If you have any more questions, please send them our way at
planDisney!
