We are going to Disney for the first time. I added the Disney Dining Plan to help make meals easy. The thing is I read someplace that i cant use the plan on buffet meals or that if I do we only get one go at the buffet is this true?

Hello Brian, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. First time visits are so much fun, you must be so excited! Be sure to pick up some complimentary First Visit buttons at Guest Services and proudly wear them around the parks. You did not specify which Disney Dining Plan you have, but if you have the Standard plan which has Quick-Service and Table-Service entitlements, you are able to use a Table-Service entitlement for the buffet. And as with all buffet-style meals, there is no limit to how many times you get up to get a plate. When we purchase the Disney Dining Plan we always plan on visiting at least one buffet during our stay. The Character Dining Experiences are our favorite type of buffet meal. Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, and The Crystal Palace are among our favorites.

If you have the Quick Service Dining Plan, you will not be able to use an entitlement for a buffet-style meal because the buffets are Table-Service Restaurants and your credits are only valid at Quick-Service Restaurants.

I hope that clears up any confusion. If you need anything else please feel free to drop by and we'd be happy to help. Happy planning, and have a magical first Walt Disney World vacation.
