    we have been to disney a few times before and have always gotten the dining plan.. tips were included then.. long time ago.. i was told they are now not included.. Is this correct:? how do they do the do the tipping on parties of 6 at the hoop dee doo?

    Hi Rhonda!

    What a great question!  I have been asked numerous times by friends and family about gratuities at Walt Disney World Resort, specifically when using the Disney Dining Plan.  You are correct that gratuities are no longer included and guests are responsible for paying any gratuities at the end of each dining experience.  Please make sure you read your cheque at the end of your dining experience, at the very bottom, there are several options calculated for you in order to make selecting the appropriate amount of gratuity for your party quick and easy.

    With that being said, there are a few exceptions to this "rule".  First, if you are dining at a Dinner Show such as The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, gratuity is included in the price of your meal.  So if you are attending this Dinner Show, rest assured that gratuities have be taken care of regardless of the size of your party. Also, if you are dining with a party of 6 or more (babies included) an 18% gratuity will be automatically added to your cheque at the end of your meal.  

    I have found that most Cast Members go above and beyond at Walt Disney World Resort, and if you ever have any questions concerning gratuities, Guest Services will always be able to assist you in this area.
